House of Craft - Branding

House of Craft is a company based in San Francisco whose goal is to be able to deliver beer to their clients’ doorsteps through the mail. The company is still in the process of getting all the licensing they need to be able to send beer through the mail. They approached the design agency of my teacher about creating a brand identity and he brought the project to my class.

House of Craft wants to be able to make high-end, hard to acquire beer accessible to anyone so I created a sleek, simple, and modern logo that customers will be able to associate with some of their favorite beers. The block H of the logo is altered slightly by turning the negative space into the shape of beer bottles and the logo holds its shape with the wordmark laid out vertically on the right side.

The rest of the brand identity used this vertical type as well. The business card, letterhead, envelope, and brand guidelines book all have a strong brown column on the left side of the page and any headline copy is placed in that column.

The packaging that the beer will be delivered in is also designed to give the beer a feeling of great quality. The beers will be delivered in a wooden crate with the House of Craft logo and wordmark branded directly onto the wood. It gives the delivery a rustic feel that will be much more impressive than the normal cardboard or styrofoam box.

The execution of this project is not for profit, this is a school project (UC Berkeley Ext.) that was assigned in order for me to develop design skills in terms of branding and package design.
