Oakland Oaks - Concept

Oakland Oaks Branding concept

As a life-long Oakland A’s fan, I was pretty bummed out when they decided to move to Las Vegas. I decided to create a brand identity for a new MLB team in Oakland, one that I would be proud to root for again.

The Oakland Oaks played in the Pacific Coast League from 1903 to 1955 so I decided to resurrect the franchise, updating their logos and uniforms. Taking inspiration from different eras of the Oaks, while also tying in the colors of the A’s, I created a brand set that feels both classic and modern. I updated the old English O as the primary logo and took inspiration from the old leaf and acorn logos to create new secondary logos.

Lastly, I designed a full set of jerseys, including home, road, alternate and a “faux-back” (fake throwback) Sunday option.
